In a letter from Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov addressed to Governor of Kursk Region Alexander Mikhailov, it is reported that, as a result of 2016, Kursk region has become one of the leaders in terms of the number of citizens using public and municipal services in electronic format.

According to the Minister, the target rate of 50 per cent has been achieved in 32 federal subjects of the Russian Federation, and 53 subjects - have not achieved it yet. At the same time, Kursk region and 16 more federal subjects have experienced significant increase in the number of citizens receiving public services in electronic format.

This work is carried out in the regions within the framework of the Presidential Decree on the main areas of public administration improvement.

Nikolay Nikiforov also recalls that the proportion of citizens using public and municipal services in electronic format should be at least 70 per cent by 2018.
